Misfed or Skewed Copies
The first question to ask yourself: Is the paper loaded in the paper drawer correctly? Follow the steps below for this simple fix:

  1. Remove the paper out of the drawer and check the pages at the bottom of the stack for pages that are curled up or under. Remove and discard any bent or curled sheets. Fan the paper and put back into the drawer.
  2. Check to make sure the paper guides are tight against the paper.
  3. If a misfeed or skewing still exists, try a different paper drawer. If the problem goes away, remove the paper from the problem drawer and call for service. While waiting for the tech to arrive, you can still make copies using the other drawers.
  4. If a misfeed or skewing still exists out of the other drawer, call for service.

Lined or Dirty Copies
This issue could be as easy as a quick cleanup. Again, follow the steps below:

  1. Clean both pieces of glass with a window cleaner. Spray cleaner on a soft cloth, not directly on the glass (the large glass and small slit glass next to it).
  2. If a line still exists, make a copy off the glass. If you still see the line, call for service.
  3. If the line is not there, make a copy using the document feeder. If the line shows up, place your copy with the line on it next to the scan glass to help you find the mark. Use your thumb nail to remove the mark. Try making another copy using the document feeder. If the line still exists call for service.

Fax Issues
If you are getting calls from people you have sent faxes to saying there is a line on the faxes you are sending, see the “Lines or Dirty Copies” section above. If you are having a transmission problem, either sending or receiving faxes, read on for ways to correct the problem:

  1. If you cannot send or receive faxes, check the phone line. Press “Off Hook” or “Line Monitor” to make sure you have a dial tone.
  2. If you do not have a dial tone, check to make sure the telephone line cord is plugged into the wall outlet, and the other end is plugged into the “Line” port (not the “Tel” port) of the machine. If the line cord is correct, call your phone company.
  3. If you have dial tone but cannot send to one or two numbers, verify the numbers. If they are correct, call for service.

Error Codes
Use the following procedure to correct error codes on your printer or copier.

  1. Turn the machine off using both switches.
  2. First, turn off the Sub switch on the Control Panel.
  3. Wait until the “Start” button light turns off, then turn off the Main switch.
  4. Wait 20 seconds then turn on the Main switch, and then the Sub switch. If the error does not reset, call for service.

Printing and Scanning Issues

  1. Make sure the network cable is plugged into the wall and the machine securely.
  2. Turn the machine off using both switches, similar to the procedure above for correct error codes.
  3. First, turn off the Sub switch on the Control Panel.
  4. Wait until the “Start” button light turns off, then turn off the Main switch.
  5. Wait 20 seconds, then turn on the Main switch, and then the Sub switch.
  6. Wait at least 4 minutes for the Controller to boot up. Even though the machine says ready, the Controller is not.
  7. If you still cannot Print or Scan, call for service.

Hopefully, the steps above have solved your issue. If not, you can always schedule printer or copier service for prompt attention. Do you own a business in the Canton, Akron, Youngstown or Western Pennsylvania areas? We can meet all of your printer and copier needs.
